LATALI RECORDS

In September 2023, I had the privilege of taking part in an interdisciplinary project in Georgia. As a diverse team of Georgian anthropology and architecture students, as well as German media and tourism students, we worked on the digital mapping of the village of Latali. Located in the picturesque mountain region of Svaneti. The area is an emerging tourist destination that is being confronted with questions and changes brought about by growing mass tourism.

To capture the diverse traditions and history of Latali, as well as the ideas and perspectives of its people for the future, we used various media — including 3D scans, videos, photos, audio, texts, drone footage, and sketches.

During our trip, we had the chance to get to know the warm and hospitable residents of the village, and many new friendships were formed.
